Preservation students, professionals, and advocates, please take note of an exciting symposium happening this spring! Historic New England and Roger Williams University bring you Directions in Twenty-First Century Preservation, a symposium on new directions and challenges in twenty-first century historic preservation on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 8:30am to 6:00pm at the Bay Point Inn and Conference Center in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Symposium speakers include Daniel Bluestone, Director of the University of Virginia School of Architecture’s Historic Preservation program; Dr. Andrea Livi Smith, Director of the Center for Historic Preservation at the University of Mary Washington; and Julian Smith, Executive Director of Willowbank, a Canadian educational institution at the cutting edge of heritage conservation training. The event will also feature student and recent graduate poster and lightning (pecha-kucha) presentations that focus on research and documentation in conservation and preservation of historic resources.
